Is it possible? Kaiell thought as he watched the hooded man walk quickly by him onto the trestlespan. He had caught a good glimpse of the man’s face when he turned towards him. He looked just like him…Just like my brother. It can’t be. It simply can’t. If it is true though, then I would have missed my chance if I left for Bree now. He had to decide soon. Was he going to follow this man to find out the truth or head back to Bree now where he had business to attend to? “Ahhg…my work in Bree can wait.” Kaiell mumbled to himself as he started preparing his things. He took his crossbow and sword as well. If it is somehow true, and if he is still a thrall to the enemy, then I need to be prepared. Once ready, he started on his way, following the cloaked man from a good ways behind.
Twenty minutes later.
Kaiell swore under his breath. He’d lost the man from his sights a little while ago, but now… he’d lost his tracks as well. Kaiell was an excellent warrior, but tracking was not at all his specialty. It was speed. Well, what am I supposed to do now? Kaiell thought as he looked around at the many tall trees surrounding him. For the longest time he continued searching the ground to see if he could pick up the trail again, but his efforts were in vain. Perhaps he discovered that he's being followed, Kaiell mused to himself as he continued walking in the general direction the cloaked man most likely went. He walked until he reached a small hill and from there he caught sight of a road not too far away. Ahh…what am I even doing? He thought again. I should be on my way to Bree right now. But just then, he spotted two riders on the road coming from the east. Kaiell decided to run towards the road to see if he could meet these two before they passed him. Though they were riding considerably fast…so after a moment, he slowed down once he realized that he wouldn't make it. I wonder where they’re heading, Kaiell pondered. He strolled a little further and then stopped to contemplate further on what he was going to do. It was then when he saw another figure on the road coming from the same direction of the two riders. This figure was without a steed, but he was running rather quickly. Kaiell narrowed his eyes and soon saw who he was. The hooded man.
