A Journey's End

Sitting in the blue "spare" room in Leoffrith's house in Hookworth, Adriellyn checked her lamp and brushed a loose strand of hair away from her eyes. 'A'igh', need t' get this writ afore I needs to fill the lamp again. Again.' She sighs and starts putting letters to the page.

We're back. I should have written this earlier, but we got swept up in greetings and urgent laundering and bathing and such like. So, this is probably the last bit for this particular journal, but we did make it back without undue happenings.

I have permission, it seems, for Aduial to be stabled here in Hookworth with Kestrel and the other noble steeds, at least for a while. I'm not sure how long that'll last, though, so I need to get up to Marney soon to see whether she'll even agree to build what I need – and whether Miss Irfanwing will let me add such a building to her place, for that matter. I suppose I haven't written her name here before – that's the lady I rent from in the Bindrow district. I'm still not sure whether she's Gondorian or an elf – neither really makes sense for a house-owner in the Bree-lands, but that's an awfully Sindarin name.

Anyways, I've been staying with Leoffrith while getting that sorted, and my clothes clean, and a proper scrubbing of me again after our journey. He keeps trying to tell me I can stay here as long as I want, and that would make keeping Aduial here in Hookworth easier, but I don't think he's really going to want me underfoot forever. And no matter how well we get along, Beoda probably won't really, either.

He keeps trying to get me to buy a house here, and there are some smaller ones – but even that much house and yard seems silly to me, for just me. That's especially so when you consider how much I go off scouting and such. I'm not a homebody, and I don't really know anything about keeping a yard up. Then again – well, if I knew anything about how it works here, maybe I'd think more about it. But as it is, I do have that room in Bindrow. Of course, if Miss Irfanwing doesn't want a stable built there, I'll have to look elsewhere. I can't leave a warhorse where she might bite, kick, or even trample someone who doesn't know how to approach her. I suppose I should ask Brynleigh or Inayat about it, so I don't get Leoffrith's hopes up if it doesn't go that way.

I saw Sareva in the Turtle tonight, too, and that has me thinking even more on how I need to get past Hookworth and get my business in Bree taken care of – or even not actual business, but just seeing people what I owe visits and such to, or just want to see. So tomorrow's going to be a day of visits, and probably the next as well, at least.
