Finding herself once again in Leoffrith's spare room, thanks to the distance between Hookworth and Bindrow, Adriellyn sat at the desk to write.
Starting a new volume of journalling, I guess. I'm still mostly staying at with Leoffrith, though I barely even saw him the past two days. This desk he has in this room is getting a little too familiar. I might need to buy one. I think I have room.
Anyways, I met with Miss Brynleigh long enough to establish that I can stable Aduial here in Hookworth for the long term, since I'm now paying a silver penny a week for her upkeep. Considering what the oats alone would cost me, well, I made sure she knew I could afford what it really took. She said it was a fair price, though. Maybe they buy enough grain it is, for them. That's even better for both me and the horse, then, since she'll be with people who know war-horses, and around other horses. Well, aside from when I'm riding her, of course.
Met a hobbit over dinner last night at the Turtle – a bloke by the name of Dogward, from the Brockenborings. Didn't quite ever get around to asking him if he knows Mister Bogo Brockhouse, but we had a good bit of conversation, and I took him up to introduce him to the horses, since he'd heard all kinds of fanciful tales about war-horses. Seems he's coming of age soon, and has been on a bit of a walk-about, but he'll be going home for this birthday. I hope I get to see him again. He was good company.
Of course, there's lots of people I need to see again soon, and most of them be good company. And I reckon Miss Brynleigh would be, if I'd stop putting her off so much as to how I'm hurting. But the timing never seems good for saying, and I don't want to just burst into hysterical tears on her in the Turtle.
I made it far enough north to see Marney today. Helped her with some wood-trimming and such. Her place is starting to come along, but she might not have to time to even think about building a stable in Bindrow until near the start of autumn. That depends a bit on the other orders and work she gets at the markets, of course – but I'm not sure I can actually pay her enough for a stable to make it a priority for her. I got a letter off to Miss Irfanwing, but I haven't heard back yet, so the whole idea may still fall flat.
As much as I'm staying here, maybe I do need to ask what it takes to live here proper-like, instead of taking up the room Leoffrith might be needing before he expects to. I'm not sure who to ask, though. I heard from Andrelanor something about a council of nine what was involved in such things, and an elf named Ramield, but I haven't seen her or heard her mentioned otherwise. Reckon I'll just have to ask Brynleigh, or maybe Inayat if I see her first.
I still haven't caught up with Cesistya in the Pony, and that's starting to worry me a little. I saw Amanda there briefly, at least, but nobody else I've been expecting. Has everyone moved away while I was gone? I hope not – though I suppose that'd make it easier to decide to live in Hookworth. But now I'm borrowing more troubles from the future, and I got enough of today's as it is. And I should sleep, anyways.
With that, the blonde left the page out to dry, blowing out the lamp, and settled into her nest on the floor.
