These past weeks have been fortunate with me, I was able to find a job as a wood-worker at the Combe Lumber-camp, which had been quite successful, however, I had found a better job, one which would pay more. Alongside this fine job, I had found a good chance for love. Elfcwyn. I had asked her if she would want to take a chance, but she had declined, however, she had said that she does fancy me but needs more time. Denethas, her sister, doesn't trust me, which is understandable, her being the responsible and overprotective, I would say. Wyn is also responsible, but I feel like Denethas is the more cautious out of the two. I will have to watch what I say when I am near her, I would hate to offend her, I am attempting to gain her trust. I am quite doubtful, since they are going to the Shire once the festivities end. I am not sure if I should be happy, or sad, my chance at love is fleeting, so is my happiness, but their happiness is more important. I do not know, nor should I, only that time will tell. I do wonder what father would say if he were here, perhaps among the lines of, 'You will either lose her, lose your confidence, or just lose yourself in the moment. Choose wisely.' He would say something among those lines, and I would respond with a shrug and a grunt. Usually. Father was wise in that sense, provided good advice and always urged me to make my own judgment, but be aware of the rumors and legends. Thus, I have made my judgment about Elves, and I've came to the conclusion, they are wise in battle and spirit and body, wise in all things knowledge, yet are not a race to go to war with as enemies.
I have not meet enough Dwarves, but I hear they are a honorable and, much like us, skilled in combat and craft. They also make the best brew in the lands. I do hope that I have the chance to meet another one some day, I recall meeting one when I had gone through the Misty mountains. Well, no, it was a group of merchants. A caravan I believe. Heading to the Iron Hills. I didn't have the time to ask them much, just some gossip and to wish them safe journeys and may gold wash over them. I do think that is what you should say if you would be wishing a dwarf good luck, or perhaps not. Would it be related to their beards, or their love for gold? Or both. There is a whole area of Bree that has dwarves, the Stone Quarter, they say. Perhaps they might be able to provide business with Abelor. Hopefully, this month will prove more fortunate for me as well.
