The Return
He sat there on her doorstep. Dernwynn's doorstep, his oldest friend. Looking more beast than man
His wounded form crawled to the door and reached for it with his hand, able to leave three weak knocks on it and then a noise as locks were being opened. A light appeared from the fire inside and in that light, the blonde. She helped him get up inside and started to tend to his big wound in his chest gaping from the steel axe which struck through his armor. If not for his armor he would've parted from this world but.. He survived. Laying in a bed struggling over thoughts and pain. She treated his mind and body alike and many other ailments as long as it was needed. In these days he got to know her better. Know what haunts her dreams and what was in the past but now she too knows what happened to him and how many events in their life were equal in grief and pain.
A not-so-loving embrace
When first he could stand he moved out of Dernwynn's house, almost running with tears in his eyes as he limped to Silver's house. Joy in his mind but also guilt but both dissipated when he saw her sitting on her porch. His mind was blank as if he was looking at a vision of her.. She has not changed one bit. He came closer and greeted eachother as long-lost friends and he spoke his mind. Offered his story as an excuse and he asked her forgiveness but she waved it off and told him to do the same. To leave such things behind them as the past is in the past. It made him uneasy, now thoughts have gone to root in his mind.
"Can I blame her? That I just ran away from all I held dear for nothing but misplaced love? Left her and all the others behind without a single thought?"
However she taught him a lesson in 'Fear'. That you cannot live with the guilt and problems of the past but no. She told him fear was good and that it should be learned from and so he did. He followed her advice, he started to visualize what he learned from all the things in his past and she was right. There's no bigger teacher than Fear
Walking with fear
Dernwynn praised him for being so courageous to finally walk in the streets of Bree again and he smiled. A fake smile. For under that mask which was his well-performed smile was something else. He tried to control it but almost succumbed under it, so afraid he was to even open the door of the Prancing Pony once more. But he fought it and went through. Recieved the foul gazes one gets for being nothing but a Haradi foreigner, one of the -dark and evil men- which people who don't even know him started to call him. Luckily she was there again. The blonde woman with her dress and healing hands to pat him on his back when all seemed pointless, when he almost succumbed under the large foot of fear, the gentle squeeze on his shoulder was all he needed.
A love anew
There she stood. The other side of the lake under the old willow tree. They did not know then who one another was and they just watched each other from afar.. But then they came closer, walked around the lake untill both of them noticed. Eldryssa watched him in awe as he came closer, running with his wounded leg. It stung deep but he did not care for in front of him was someone he almost said farewell to.
Finally, Rahvic returned after so many moons of being lost. But thanks to the help of his friends he too will know peace, for now..
