Business has been well of the late. I sold some more figurines and carvings upon the night of the last market. On the very same night, I send Fiontann some letters describing that we should talk about some business propositions. He quickly responded and told me that he does indeed know of my skill as a woodworker and that if repairs are needed, I would be the first man he would contact. After that, I spoke with Dernwynn, and to my suprise she gave some insights upon women in Bree. She obviously was joking, but from what I had seen, perhaps it was true. She said that there were some women in the Prancing Pony that would quickly put themselves over my knee, and that some would even go on one of my knee, and the other upon my other knee. Simply teasing, but there were some that blushed and even approached me, asking that they could provide services if need be. I shook my head, chuckling, and walked away, but not before smirking at them and sending them a wink in jest. While I didn't get some girls over my knee, it proved her theory, that some would do anything in this forsaken town. However, I met her again after I had went to one of many inns of Bree-land, first stopping off at the Thirsty Boar to see if anyone was there, to my surprise, there wasn't. I then recalled hearing about an inn in Hookworth, one of the other various settlements near Bree-town.
The Sizzling Turtle, it was named. I did find some people there, Adriellyn, Anuriana, and some others, even an Elf! It was certainly interesting, but I didn't dare stay there long. It was a tiresome night, that is for sure. They appeared to be interesting folk, Adri and An. Adri was from Esgaroth, or Lake-town, as it's official name is. Unless I misunderstood. After my grand trip of tavern-crawling, I returned back to Dernwynn at the Prancing Pony saying that her theory was correct, but also false. False due to how I decided not to tell her that some did in fact wish to 'aid me', and correct that some did wish to 'aid me'. It was certainly a funny tale to tell. Something to tell my kids, if I ever have some. After that, I rented a room in the Prancing Pony, ordering some dried meat and potatoes for late supper, and a drink of milk to wash it down. I was able to wash myself before someone had knocked upon the door. It was a raven-haired lass, young, beautiful looking. She knocked upon the door once again, and I had dried myself off, putting my clothes on, then I answered the door.
"Hello! I was wondering, I couldn't help but notice your handsome face earlier while I was ordering tea. Would you need company tonight, maybe I could provide some for a lonely man as yourself?" She winked at me, speaking in a soft, almost seductive manner. I shook my head, and closed the door, ignoring her as she knocked upon it one more time before I could hear her feet pattering away. I finished my meal and my drink before heading to bed. It was a good sleep, no dreams of ill manner nor thoughts that kept me from sleeping. I woke up and quickly went down to the Combe Lumber camp. I spoke with Ember and Mason before I started working and helping the workers. Some of them, including I, were sent to fell some more trees. A total of four we managed to fell, they were quite close to the lumber camp. I turned my attention to my carvings then, and started to work with Boll Needler about the life size fox carving we were making. We were able to start carving the face in the hours to come. I started upon the eyes, and he started with the nose. At the end of the afternoon we were able to finish detailing the nose and the eyes, and the general foundation of the face itself. After that, I spoke with Ember once more and departed the camp, smiling as I did.
I arrived at the Thirsty Boar hoping to find some company. Luckily, Fiontann, Anriett, Carmillia, and Gawck, I believe I spotted Fyria as well. Fiontann had disappeared and reappeared as quick as he left. When he came back, he asked me if I'm a fighter, and I said yes. I am, after all. I didn't train for Eomer's Eored for nothing when I was a teenager. Gawck and I were the ones that were going to fight it seems. We both got upon the stage and and prepared. I got into my stance, while I looked at Gawck's, trying to peer at any visible weaknesses. I was almost took back by the lack of time that Fion provided us, for almost seconds after we got upon the stage, he shouted "Begin!", and soon we started sparring. Gawck was able to get the better of this and he attacked first, attempting to hit me right in the gut. I sidestepped to the right, and retaliated. I swung my fist at him, hoping to connect with his cheek, it did, making him release quite a howl. I chuckled and chuckled, making him mad. This, however, was my advantage. I deemed him as a man who would quickly get mad if he was taunted enough, be it by a humiliation or a chuckle. I choose the chuckle. He swung again and hit me in the gut. I let out a groan. I felt sick as the thrills, yet memories of past battles washed over me like a boat being capsized. I enjoyed battle, but battling with my fellow man was not what I preferred whatsoever.
Orcs and other things was thrilling, now this, this was simply not what I enjoyed. Nonetheless I pressed on my assault. I swung my fist at him again, hitting him right in the left cheek. He let out a groan of pain, and was getting rightfully angry. I replicated his anger, then chuckled once again, and to my surprise, he charged at me, attempting to hit me right in the stomach. I dodged and then extended my right fist into his right cheek, making him stumble back. After that attacked, he attempted to kick me right in the stomach, seeing as though I was almost off the stage. It was here that I dodged the kick, and we both called it a draw. We both were extremely exhausted. It appeared that Gawck had to leave for some business. I simply assumed that he had a lady-friend to go to, even though he was a father. I'm most likely wrong though, yet, Bree-town is full of ladies that would do anything. And men that would do anything for those ladies. Cedwyn, and her friend Timlod, watched the fight. I asked if she had enjoyed it, but she said that she doesn't like her friends throwing fists at each other. Thorbeck enjoyed it though, and so did the others. However, Fion had some business to attend to with Carmillia, and after they spoke, she had a pot with most of her belongings in with it. I assumed that she was leaving, be it forced or of her own will.
I returned to the Prancing Pony to see if I could get rest, and met Freyga, Rahvic, and Maldwyn there. It appears that Bema favors me tonight for me to have met most of my friends in fortunate places. The night was short for me there, I spoke with them for a good while, then went to rest. I do need it. I will try to find a good healer tomorrow, Dernwynn or someone else. She is well at her job, I hear.
