Meeting:
I was called out before dawn to see a child in town. The child was sick with fever and red spots covered the body. I've seen this in children before, there is little I can do. The parents have been instructed to keep the child in bed for the next two weeks, to keep the boy hydrated and I've provided them with a salve to help the boy's itching.
If symptoms continue after the two weeks, they've been asked to call for me again.

I had a strangely pleasant rest, until I was woken up by the knock on the door. After the child was looked at I ran my errants while I was in the town.
I was told about a small feast at the local mess hall. I must have arrive too late, but at least I could rest my leg. The wound has been cleaned again, but the infection still lingers, if less than before.
While there, I spoke with two men. Mister Clay Thistleberry and mister Reily Thatcher. The former doesn't speak, but seems to have developed an ability to communicate with the latter by certain hand gestures. Maybe when I have time, I'll seek the two and ask to make some notes about this.
Mister Thistleberry is an apprentice healer, from what I understood. The two are setting up business which may open up trade for some herbs. They have been left to think on the offer. I'll hope to hear from them soon.
I walked up the street and found miss Rushwood. I've expressed my thoughts on how her leg could be fixed. It'll not be perfect, nor is there a guarantee it will work, but the offer has been made.
Her face has been bruised. In exchange for curtains to hang between the beds, I'll be giving her some lemongrass oil. It should reduce the pain and swelling, make the discoloring heal sooner.
By her words, it seems that mister Zeylheim believes that he is no longer needed. I'm not certain how this idea came to his mind, but I'll need to apologize. I guess this is why he hasn't been seen in awhile. That floorboard still needs to be fixed before anyone else has the misfortune of falling in it.
I stopped by miss Sol's, to see how she was doing. The woman is still alive and her health seems better. There is something that is bothering her, something from a fever dream that has upset her. She refuses to tell me what it was.
When I returned to the Soothery, Jackilyn was outside. She sat underneath the tree, drawing. I asked to see and she agreed. I was surprised by what she had drawn, the accident.
I felt bitter, annoyed, but at the same time I wanted to laugh. It was an odd feeling, one of many this strange woman manages to bring forth. It's intriguing.
She's complained that I've been busy and so I offered to lock the Soothery and we could have a meal together. She agreed. The cook had prepared a beef stew with dumplings for dinner, it was acceptable.
Yet, she insisted I should have invited miss Sol in when she came by to give me a basket of eggs and a blackberry pie. It was confusing.
By the way Jackilyn spoke after, it's almost as if she has some suspicions about the woman. I'll have to observe this further.
I've decided to change my study again, make it fit for living in. It will be an odd change, but one that I think is needed. There are many changes and sometimes I stop to wonder if they are good or not. Am I getting too distracted from my work?
