Log 2: Entry 5

Patient: Human, female, adult
Symptoms: Birth
Treatment:
Meeting:

I was called out to assist one of my neighbors. His daughter was giving birth and they needed an extra pair of hands, and someone to watch for the woman's health along with that of the child.
Fortunate enough, she has a mother and a sister that could help her to keep upright during the birth. The father had little desire to remain in the room and so I had to be the one on my knees, to catch the child as it came.
Sadly, the child did not survive. There were complications, one I couldn't prevent despite trying.
The mother is weak and has fallen ill. I'll have to visit her daily for the coming week, make sure that at least one of them remains alive.

Miss Arlis stopped by to pick up her gloves. She agreed to sit with me and I was able to keep my word to miss Winkle. As suspected, she did dismiss the hobbit's worry, but I've said what was needed of me. There's little else I can do.

The fever that miss Ruevir caught is going down. I spent the morning with her, comforting her. Taken some lesson from observation and decided to hold the woman, she seemed comforted. We talked and she's agreed to try and change, with my help and those of the Soothery.

Mister Bíld has delivered a message to me from the, so claimed, elven woman. Saying that she needs to speak with me urgently. My doors are open, I'll await her arrival.
He also brought a jar of candied fruit peels and some peaches. One of the few sweet things I tolerate. I'll have to try and repay him, somehow.

There have been no new visits or news of miss Jackilyn or miss Sol. Not heard anything about miss Silver either.
