Meeting with Morohir

Dryn and Aranglin had arrived where Morohir had lived, Fenris still by Dryn’s side. To their surprise, several elves had been getting boxes ready in a carriage. They walked to where they have seen Morohir along with Feridae. They both had a slightly saddened expression on their faces.

“What’s going on here, Morohir? Bit of housecleaning?” asked Dryn.

“I’m afraid that it is not that simple of a thing,” said Morohir. “We have decided that it was time for us to sail to the West.”

Sail to the West? That would mean….

“I wouldn’t be able to see you all ever again, would I?” asked Dryn, doing his best not to sound sad.

Feridae suddenly hugged Dryn, resulting in the latter to hug back. “Mhm. But we would really miss you! Although, we did make a couple of things for you to remember us by. Well… Morohir did, not me.”

Morohir had presented two small boxes toward Dryn. Dryn opened one box to reveal a medallion made of mithril. It was shaped like a wolf with sapphire for its eyes. What the other box revealed had made Dryn chuckle. It was a golden ornament shaped as pie, reminding him of what mischief that he and Feridae planned to do. It seemed so long ago… Tears threatened to come out of his eyes as he hugged the two elves.

“Thank you… I’ll treasure this always,” said Dryn.

“Dryn…” Aranglin glanced at the man.

Dryn glanced at Aranglin for a moment. He knew that he would not be at peace with living anywhere. Not ever since due to being overwhelmingly stressed about the ordeal at the Pony. It had then led to looking back at Morohir. He started to tell him of Aranglin’s background and the situation they had been in recently. As soon as he was done, Morohir looked at Aranglin.

“I will see what I can do for you to travel with us,” said Morohir. “Seeing as how long you have been a friend to us.”

            “Thank you, Morohir,” smiled Aranglin.

“However, you would know that you wouldn’t perhaps see him again, right, Dryn?” asked Morohir.

“Yes…,” said Dryn. “But I would feel better if he had lived somewhere peacefully instead of having to deal with what stress that anywhere else would have given him. I’d prefer if he were to have a happier life. Any other opinions would make me feel selfish.”

“Very well,” said Morohir. “I shall see what I can do then. Now… We have a bit of time left until everything is finished being packed. Why don’t we take the time to share a few tales?”

“Yes, like why is your hair short and why there is a wolf with you!” laughed Feridae.

Dryn could not help but chuckle before nodding. It would not hurt sharing tales one last time. His mind had gone to his friends back in Bree-land. Yet somehow, he knew that they were alright for the time being.
