The More Things Change

Sitting in the new place, I find myself somewhat reflective in nature full-circle it seems to be. Since arriving within the West, Bree was the first Lands I had decided to remain for any period of time. Though we still have our holdings throughout Ost Forod, once again I find myself here, surrounded by faces both old and trusted, and new to be tested.

I find myself in an odd position of influence also, not with my own people but with strangers, those met once, or those still considered strange who I have spoken to upon a few occasions. An Elf there was a few days past, and from a conversation, she wielded to me a Ring of great value to her. Another Female not just the other evening assisted with a Watchwoman sniffing around where they should not.

Gave me forewarning and enabled me to keep the upper footing. Even the Watchwoman herself when confronted did little other than chuckle at my quips and blush, I know not how the Men are in these Lands if the Women seem drawn to something different in nature, but it does one thing for me, which is leverage. Leverage I can use for me and my own fellows.

There is an interesting individual too, but she proves both interesting enough in general and a name I can never pronounce correctly, and that in itself makes her worth the investing. Doesn't hurt that she is not bad to look at.

I note these oddities, for even back home I had much the same 'appeal' I guess you might call it. I wonder how useful such things will be in things to come.  Still even if not, luckily I am no fool, nor surround myself with them. But, it is a stark contrast, here I find myself having to outsmart foes more than simply swinging a Sword through them. It is not difficult, but it does give me cause to educate myself more of the lands and peoples within them, if only to figure how to best utilize them to the ends of Me and my own.

So far the 'Noble' (Or what passes for one) in the Streets, the Scholar who placed his nose too far into my business. The Farmer and his Wife, and those upon his Lands who wished deny us claiming what we wanted. The Guard who chose his morales over coin, I found it...admirable, before I had him disposed of in the marshes. They all had names, families, dreams, hopes. Loves.

Well soon people will realise my Family will come before theirs. There are a few more names on the list yet, and a few explosive choices left before we can move on with the Plans. Next is the Warrior who claims himself the Champion of Bree. I shall test his name, before I take his life.
