Letters: To Blid - Haunted (Again)

My dearest Blid,

Sedryn and I have made it back to the Forsaken Inn. We took a slower route than the one we took to get you to Ost Guruth. I waited to write you, because I wanted to make sure you were far past the Trollshaws before you received my letter.

I'm currently resting in one of the rooms. Not the haunted one. Sedryn and I were attacked by a few highwaymen, or brigands, whatever they're called. There was a woman with child and her husband, and we, of course, decided that we must rescue them. In the fray, I received several broken ribs. Sedryn doesn't know much about healing but he's been really helpful. I'm tired of being here though, this Inn isn't comfortable and I want to be home.

I already wrote to Maddoct and told him not to worry. He, of course, worried anyway. I nearly cried while reading his letter, I have never had someone fret over me like that. Fretting in a way that a parent or a family member would. It was completely foreign to me, and I immediately wanted to write and ask him to come. I didn't, because I'm sure he's very busy and he has his own things going on. I wanted to, though.

I hope that you're safe and that you've arrived where you were supposed to, and I even hope Arlis made it alright with you. I miss you greatly. I had written to Maddoct before and told him that I longed to ask if I could go on your caravan with you, and he suggested to me that I did, but I didn't want to leave Sedryn behind. And what if I did, and he found those brigands by himself? I wouldn't have  been able to live with myself. But I'm still jealous of your adventure, and I hope you return soon.

with much love,

Liffey
