Liffey's Drabbles - Entry 12

My mother wouldn't believe the mess I got myself into at the Pony earlier, though I would say it didn't end all that bad after all. And, I think, I even made some new friends afterwards! I'd met a mister Fenley at the bar, who was afraid of the wrath of his sister Piper, though he also said she might've just not been around when he came calling. I've never had siblings, so it's not like I have any experience on the matter, but I imagine you can't be too mad at someone for going to work. After Fenley and I went to sit down, Arthur kept trying to pull him into a duel or something of the sort.

At any rate, I ended up getting Arthur acquainted with the fountain in the courtyard. I would insist that it was all in good fun! My robe ended up getting soaked in the process, but Arthur was far worse than I! Still, after our tussle in the Pony, he bought Fenley and me our dinners and ciders and we chatted for a while, and I truly don't think he's as bad as I originally thought when I came across him a few days ago! I'm not sure that a snooty guy from a wealthy family in Bree is anyone that would want to spend time in my company, but maybe we both judged the other too quickly.

Caein joined the conversation not too long after, when me and Arthur were both soaked through to the bone, but I don't even think he noticed! Fenley kept glancing between the two of this, I caught him doing it, but Caein told me later that night that he hadn't noticed at all. He commented on Fenley's flirtations with me, but it didn't seem to stem from jealously, I would almost even wager to say that Caein didn't really care at all. We drank the rest of the bottle of brandy and then I went to bed, I didn't even wait to see if Caein made a bed on the floor again or if he went home.
