Another page from a small weathered book. The writing is unclear but was written precisely.
The date reads:
Year 445 F.A., Gondlin
Nana has forced me to go to the markets with Fileg and Arvellas on this day. Was this really necessary? I adamantly refused when I heard her idea. Do not think that I have forgotten their past transgressions on me. But Nana says that it is past time I forgive them for their actions. I think not! Especially because they still find ways to tease me and make me the brunt of their jokes on a regular basis.
But the three of us were sent to the market to buy fresh fruit and vegetables for our family dinner. My cousins family would be joining us...unfortuanately.
Fileg and Arvellas mostly ignored me, for which I am most thankful. I was NOT in the mood for their sharp words. Once we had reached the market, they handed me all the coin that their Naneth had provided and told me to choose and buy everything. And what did they do?
They ran off to where a group of elleths were standing by the fountain and immediately began to egregiously flirt with them. Quite disgusting to watch, I must say. And to my amusement, the elleths quickly and happily refused their advances. But then my cousins moved on to find more....despicable.
I did as Nana instructed though, and found all the ingredients she had asked for. At the last stall, the merchant was selling pears. I am quite shy and quiet around strangers so I must have stumbled over my words and looked pathetic enough, that the merchant gave the pears to me for half of the price.
What I assume to be his daughter, packed the pears up neatly in a cloth and gave them to me with the brightest smile I have ever seen.
I am disturbed to think that I am becoming like my cousins. But she was beautiful. Her long golden hair, woven into a thick braid and lively green eyes. She must be around my age.
She asked my name. I blubbered for a moment of course, not used to attention being on me, especially from one as beautiful as her. I replied....eventually. And in turn she gave me her name, Aranossiel. It fits her perfectly....
Anyhow, why am I so awkward? I told the two my thanks and rushed off as quickly as my feet could carry me. Father and daughter must thing me strange now....
