Long and winding path

A dance lesson from Silver, she fumbled and tripped but eventually gained some ground. Laughing and relaxing, finally feeling like she was flying, even though her steps were far from perfect she had gained a few basics and felt like she could hold her own a little. At the very least she knew how to follow a lead. Her hands still hurt over the days work, the next day she had a lighter days work planned, more hobbits to meet and get to know.

By the end of the next day, a new adventure, an opening to the next sixteen days of travel. Meeting up with Silver and talking, they were soon joined with Ryheric. He seemed down, he had finally found what he had been seeking, but the end of his mission leaving him lost, somehow feeling at a bit of a loss. Restless and in need of travel he offered a walk, the excitement filled Mildwynn, these walks always led to such sights and experiences, she grinned at the idea and jumped at the chance. Before long the three were out heading through the shire and well beyond.

The arche to the foot of the Blue Mountain seemed harmless, the path beyond steep, the road every changing, between elven and dwarven, the footprints a mixture of many different sorts. She became more and more curious. then at the top, it hit her, instead of cold mountain air, a spring scene, plants in full bloom of spring, colours and light of the same, all around, such beauty. The further they moved in the more beautiful it became, eventually out onto the bridge, and buidings of elven design up on the mountain beyond the bridge of such great beauty, such a sight. They rode around it. It had taken so many days now already. Resting here and there, and around this great city they travelled and beyond it the spring breaking eventually snow falling as the landscape changed once more. Harsh mountain ranges, more camping, the stark raw beautiful ranges of the massive mountains as the headed further on, eventually seeing more signs of dwarven building, till then eventually came to Thorins Halls.

While at the hall Ryherics mood had clearly lifted, back to teasing her and flirting, back to his normal self. The more he teased her that she was flirting with him, or thinking of him naked, the more her flustered she became, but it filled her with joy to see him back to himself once more, even if he tripped her up a little. On rejoining Silver in the halls me ended up saying she was like a sister to him. There was a pang, not because she wanted more with him, but because her own relationship with her brother was not all it could be. Yet, she understood what he ment and it felt good, she had good people who cared about her.

Leaving though Silver questioned her, seeing that brief moment, concerned she might want something else. She helped Silver walking, it was clear the cold hurt her, the pain making her move more slowly. Concern sinking in more, she kept close while Ryheric gathered the horses. One more stop, a place Silver showed them, Mildwynn became lost in wonder in those ruins, wandering there while the others remained still, sketching and gathering, as much as she could from the etchings and plants before the long ride home. Such a wonderous trip, she felt like she was flying high the whole way back.
