A Deathly Quiet

As The Black Steel snuck through what they assumed to be a Créoth camp, the noticed an unusual quiet. A fire was still lit, with meat cooking over it, but there was no men sitting around, enjoying the warmth or feasting on the meat. The chills of finding Domruth's tomb still made Gaeded feel cold and unsettled inside.

The company passed through another gate once they'd moved pass the seemingly empty camp. Looking about for any danger as they did, the company found a gruesome sight. Nailed upside down to the stone gate, arms stretched out to be nailed by the hands and the feet pointing upwards, with nails piercing the flesh to keep it help up by those points as well, was the body of one of the Créoth. Despite the camp they saw seemingly still in use, this body was covered in brown dried blood that streaked down it's body, with a small patch of brown blood on the grass directly blow it.

The wretched smell of the decomposing body and the sight of it's mutilation made most of the company reel back in disgust and fear. It was a terrible sight, but one that the company had to endure. They still needed to go further inside the ancient ruins.
