Sons of the Seven

"Is he really going to be there? The Cardanith?"

He asked, his lips peeled back in an excitement filled grin as his face couldn't contain his happiness and heart that was near bursting. The sleeping pad rustling slightly as he continued to roll it up tightly and went to bind it with thin leather straps right away as his gaze trailed to his brother as he awaited his answer anxiously.

"As opposed to another Cardanith? Arda can barely handle one, little Baralinion. Those above only know I can't imagine if there were two of them."

The Caun answered before standing and offering his hand to Baralinion to bring him up. The gleam of the brooch pinned upon his brothers chest paled in comparison to the pride that shined from Cynraede's eyes as he looked to his younger brother, pulling him into a tight embrace and placing his hands on either side of his face.

"They would be proud of us if they could see us, little brother... Even now as you act as my hand... Just as I acted for the Iaurmenel. Together we can bring order back to this world, one step at a time. We will be the coming dawn for those who fear the dark."

The brothers stood for a moment and Cynraede nodded, drawing his blade and holding it before him. "Kneel, Baralinion. Take your oath and find your place among the Seven."

The young ranger knelt and bowed his head before his brother, his voice calm and steady as he loosed the words he had memorized and taken to heart since he had heard them spoken so many years ago.

"I here swear fealty and do homage to the Order of the Seven, for I am the guardian of the light. Bearer of the knowledge of the divine. I am sworn to valour, and my heart knows only virtue. I shall be courageous in the face of my enemies, foremost in battle. Be righteous and just in my every action, and courteous at all times. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to my death. I shall be the light in the darkness, to safeguard the helpless, protect the innocent, and do no wrong. I am the guardian of the light. Bearer of the knowledge of the divine. I shall uphold the sacred wisdom of the world. Be righteous, and benevolent to whoever I may meet. Be just in my every action, and speak the truth always, even if it leads to my death. I shall be the light guiding those lost in the dark. I shall support those in the battle against darkness, and lead through right action and mind.  That is my oath."

Cynraede bowed his head, placing the blade upon Baralinions shoulders lightly before placing it upon the opposite.

"Rise, Baralinion. Knight of the Order of the Seven. Go forth, be my hand, my voice and my ears. Be the blade for the defenseless, the shield for the down trodden and go forth and be the salt of this world. Bring light to the corners of the world. You have knelt a boy, now rise a man."
