A hobbit addresses those gathered at the Green Dragon Inn in Bywater.
"My dear friends. I hope you all are enjoying yourselves as much as I am.
I am immensely fond of you all. Thirty-three years is far too short a time to live among such excellent and admirable Hobbits.
As Mister Bilbo once said, “I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.”
Piper considers these words, then shrugs.
"No, I have not yet figured out what that means, either.
I wish to make an ANNOUNCEMENT.
Having reached the age of maturity, as such things are deemed by us Hobbits, I have decided to seek my fortune. I go to find the LOST MATHOM!
Will I see Elves? Probably. Will I see mountains? Definitely.
Will I be squashed into jelly by trolls, or captured and imprisoned by goblins? Who can say?
My mind is made up. This is the END. I am going. I am leaving NOW. GOOD-BYE!"
