A Letter to Mother and Father- Age Ten... 4 months later

Mother and Father,

It has been a few months since I have written. I have not had time to write nor had the supplies to do so. I moved back into our home about a fortnight ago. It looks quite abandoned from the outside, but I have made the inside quite cozy with what was left. I used the wood from your beds and chairs for the fireplace to keep me warm. When I moved back in your blood was left on the tile where you were murdered. I spent days trying to scrub it away, but it wouldn't leave the tile. I dragged the beautiful red rug we bought from that nice lady in Archet, that was in the living room to the bedroom, and laid it over the red stained tiles. I don't dare step over or on the rug, and sometimes will just stare at it and burst into tears. I still find it hard that you are gone, and are never coming back. Gone for good... gone for no reason that I know of. I will never see you again.

I am still hiding, because I do not want to be spotted just yet. I am going hungry, but food has started to show up on my doorstep. How someone knows I live here, I do not know, but someone knows.

Sidle is crying at the door, so I must finish this writing to take him out before the patrols come down the road. Goodnight Mother. Goodnight Father. Keep watching out for me. I'm trying to be good.

Love,

Silver
