Working in the Mead Hall
A handful of people of Bancross, including residents Gamferth, Yllfa, Waelden, Ethel, Duncadda, and the tavern-owner Hildfrith, has taken upon themselves the grand task of fixing up the old Mead Hall, which has fallen into some disarray after years of low maintenance. As the Thane has for a long time been busy with other things that concern the town, he has allowed the townspeople to do as they please with the Hall.
There is lots of work to do before any larger gathering or feasts can be held here, as it once were in the older days. Cleaning up many years of dust, dispose of spoiled and rotten food and produce that attracts rats and other scavengers, repairing damaged floorboards and walls, and not to mention digging out all the ashes from the massive firepits to make sure the stonework is still in good condition and to make room for new fires to light up the Hall.
One day soon, the grand Mead Hall will once again be filled with the warmth of a firepit, good cheer and laughter, food and drinks, and grand tales and songs.
