Days of Darkness

For days now, the Darkness in the East was growing ever faster and covering the whole eastern sky. Yet, a keen eye could catch the light of  Eärendil even through the black mist. His light was still lingering to defy the Darkness and keep the shadows at bay. "Not for long", thought Ancalimiriel because Eärendil  was approaching the Sun and the days of darkness, the days when Eärendil  will not be seen, were at hand. It was very discomforting to know that Eärendil 's light is about to disappear, even for a few days, when the sky was already covered with the shadows.

Now in humble and casual attires and without the tools she used to have, Ancalimiriel still observed the Heavens and now she was waiting. She was waiting for what she knew to be true. Undeniably now there was days of hardship before the City, yet after the hardest blow, a new day was at hand. Still, she trembled as the last ray of the white star diminished beyond the shadows. Eärendil  was to be unseen for three days and on the third a new day would come.

Then came the days of darkness... The tides of war reaching to the city were not good. One morning she heard the crowds ailing and walked out of her house to see what was happening. The guardians of the city were leaving for a desperate stand, with Faramir leading. Yet, even in the darkest of days, hope still was there. Even without any perceivable sign or rooting, Hope was there.
