A Letter Addressed to Arindiis Ashdown

Dear and beloved Arindiis,

I’ll preface this letter by giving you my kindest thanks for you and Solveij’s lovely company. I’ll promptly go on to apologize for my emotional state which was by large caused by the wine. I promise you that I am feeling quite fine and am presently not in unusual despair. I furthermore apologize for recounting the events of the night I spent at Derosyn and Buderick’s home as I find, in hindsight, that is was much too severe a tale for Solveij’s young ears. However, I applaud her greatly for her sympathy and sweet consolation.

I’ve been thinking of our exchange regarding Angrinc. As you know, my daily rides bring me to a state in which I am deeply reflective over the different things in my life. I find Angrinc to be an awfully interesting and thrilling individual and I dare say I believe he has many secrets. Where do you think he goes on his travels? Is he perhaps a guardsman like you and your husband? If he hadn’t been a stranger to Lady Sparrow when we first encountered him, I would’ve suspected him being one of her people. I disagree, in hindsight, with your insistence that he is merely a common friend of Solveij’s. I suspect the two to be quite intimate in fact! Upon reflection over Solveij’s confession of exchanging secrets at Little Staddlemere, I quite believe the the two to be entering early stages of courting! Now, was this anyone other than Angrinc I would indeed be highly concerned, but I have corresponded a great deal with him on the issue of Solveij’s obliviousness to certain things and find he is highly respectful of such.

I would not say their relationship concerns me, but I hope to open up your eyes to this! He is not a suspicious fellow, but we know so little of his origins and business that it is on my consciousness to consider. I would like you, and Askelin who I know will read this out loud to you, to be aware of the situation as it is. I may yet be wrong I this, but I find your dismissal of this possibility worrying. You might wonder on how to proceed, but I say to not involve yourself. Allow Solveij some freedom to be her own woman in her own right.

I hope to speak to you and share some additional thoughts on the matter soon. It has been to long since our last private meeting, in part due to my new situation, and I apologise for that.

Give my loving regards to your family,

Wisterhya (Rosethorn) Hayward
