Diary - A bit of a rest

Maybe due to the comfort of the couch or the safe feeling that the surroundings bring out in me but I nodded off far deeper than I had expected. Your brother had returned by the time that I managed to shake my dreams away and he was busy preparing to head into town to collect your mother, apparently the scourge of Bree land feels it is her duty to minister to all her daughter-in-laws in the late stages of their pregnancy. I broke straight away into a cold chill on Eabars behalf at the memories that this news re-woke about my own confinement, but could do nothing more than wish her all the best and make myself scarce before the dragon descended. Hunor, I have avowed to give the pair silent support through this ordeal as the terror that was showing in Eabars eyes was a disquieting remembrance to me, though I am as yet unsure of how I can achieve this.
I crept as quietly as possible back into the lodgings to collect my militia apparel and was surprised to find that I was not set straight upon by either of the Bearmans. Tomas was apparently as late for work as I, indeed all I saw of him were the usual crashes from the bedroom as he garbed himself and his dark shadow as he stormed past my door and out of the house.
Throwing on my own clothes and collecting up my equipment, it wasn’t until I was hefting on my boots that I turned around and caught a glimpse of Selia and the sight of her almost startled the heart out of my chest. I never realised before that I must see her as more of a sound than a person, the noise of nagging and high pitch whining that I associate with her was sadly lacking as she sat silently weeping on a chair in the parlor. Whilst my stomach turned over with pity at this unusual sight I have learnt to my peril to interfere with the Bearmans disputes and so I stole away again, leaving her nursing for herself the fresh bruises on her cheek and arm. The remains of the day were taken up by the duties of the militia. I am so tired now as I retire to bed Hunor min, guard and watch over me, and protect me from the horrors of my dreams.
