Marching Towards Annuminas : The Dwarves of Othrikar

Word reached Esteldin by late afternoon that the expedition to the Dwarf fortress Othrikar to gather reinforcements had been successful. The note from Othrikar detailed that the fortress’ Steward, Birgir Listmaker had set out a task for the expedition party; to secure the nearby mines that have been overrun by Dourhand Remnants, dwarves still loyal to the Shadow since the defeat of their leader Skorgrim. Though the Dourhands were numerous, they (much like their kin in Ost Galumar) lacked any real cohesion and discipline, which made it easy for the party to divide and conquer their enemy. What was concerning, however, was the sightings of a third party close to the mines. Angmarim scouts were spotted in the nearby forest, watching before scurrying back from whence they came. A scouting party can only mean a larger force is yet to come. The Beacon of Othrikar has been lit, and dwarves from nearby outposts shall answer the call before making their way to Esteldin. They must not tarry though, for these Angmarim will not wait for their arrival…
