My dear Cedwyn,
I haven't been gone long, nor far, but there came the need for me to write this letter. Please, my love, do not be alarmed, for everyone is safe and healthy this time. What is not fine are the people of Ost Guruth. The Wights have attacked the settlement. It's not really destroyed but there was a fire that burnt part of the wall and some defenders have been killed. The main destruction is that the people of Ost Guruth, those that do not fight, are left without homes and food and water and clothes. They have all reached the Forsaken Inn or are on the way here and we are trying to defend them. We have already lost some little ones a few hours ago. They strayed too far and the goblins attacked. When it was noticed it was too late.
My dear, what I need you to do is gather as much food and barrels of fresh water that you can find and load them on carts and send them here. The people so far are fifty or sixty and I expect at least half that number more to arrive. Six barrels would be enough for them to drink for starters. Please, send crates with food, fresh fruit and vegetables too, they will need it or they will starve before long. The whole thing happened at night and everyone left in a rush, if possible, find blankets and clothes to send too.
Tell Dindrik to gather his band and see if he can hire sellswords so that they all accompany the cart here and maybe they can lend a hand too if we get attacked again. Your cousin is well, as is Blodflaed and Lheuwen. They have found a lead to follow. Once they rest they will pursue it and question the refugees. In the meantime I will try to organise a defence for the Inn in case there is another attack.
Once you send the food and the water, please, do see what houses are empty in Hamglen and what can be used to accommodate the refugees. They are all able and they can work in order to pay for it and their food. Repayment can wait though, should the owners of the homes want it. The priority is to keep them fed, safe and warm.
Lots of love,
Fiontann
