"While richer valleys harvest gold and toss it to the wind,
While softer souls seek softer beds and lock themselves within,
When winter's threat has chased them home to wait for summer's light,
We tread into the darkness with the spirits of the night."
On the night of the spirits, the tombs of the ancients from our tribes align with the moon and the stars. The seven wolves of the huntsman (a constellation known as Remmirath to the Elves) will climb the sky to see the world unveiled, then descend upon the land to hunt for lost shades, longing for rest. They will not be the only creatures which have crossed the veil tonight.
We meet on sacred ground, a pact of peace between our clans while the dead are watching. The first bull of the season will be slaughtered for feasting, the cider will flow around, the fire of the new year will be lit, and the spirits honoured. It is wise to be concealed with mask or talisman, and always keep a flame close at hand.
Memories of those we have lost will be cherished, and they will live forever in the tales and songs of our land.
• Ceremony is IC in Enedwaith, but Canwr has created a grove in the homesteads, safe for low level characters.
• All attending are invited to participate or observe. Dunlendings are temporarily honour-bound not to cross blades between clans, but may react unkindly if they discover suspicious outsiders.
• Masks and wild beast disguises are not required but welcome.

Ysbrydnos is a Welsh celebration, with its own magnificent traditions. This event is inspired by its ancient roots, as well as various elements of Celtic history, and a highly generous amount of fantasy.
