Cosmetic Damage

Frustrated with Krimruk's swings between defiance and nonsense, Hrundis yanks the chair out from under her brother's murderer (although, keeping her wits about her, she sets it nicely on the other side of the room rather than breaking it over his fool head). Bafflingly, Krimruk seems content to lie on the floor -- of course, in between insults and nonsense, he repeatedly requests to be untied so he can "show you the light." Instead, Harnack pulls out a knife -- not to harm the prisoner, but to demonstrate what he meant by "cosmetic damage": if he is not allowed to slay Krimruk outright, he will shave him! Of course, it remains to be seen whether Krimruk has enough sense to be as humiliated by this as a proper Dwarf would be.
