The Fourth Age: An Unexpected Meeting

As the Forngarmo left Evendim and proceeded back into Forochel, the land that she guarded she had encountered a small band of Lossoth, battling the weather on their way back home. She quickly moved towards the group, in her characteristic garb. The Lossoth glanced at her mistrustfully but then seemed to recognize the figure somehow, even though she left these lands a long time ago and haven't been seen ever since. Aarniko looked at Forngarmo, as she recognized him as well.
- The Jään Vartija? Is that you? - He asked in the language of the Lossoth then and she nodded her head.
- It is, Aarniko. You seemed like you need help. - She then answered calmly and received a hug from her friend. He seemed happy to see her back 'home'.
- I thought you have perished long time ago, in the foreign lands. I am glad to see you back, dear friend.. - He then whispered to her. Even though Lossoth she knew didn't publicly display their feelings much, Aarniko wasn't afraid to do that. After all the two have been through much during Forngarmo's time in Forochel.
- I survived. But this time another danger brings me here. I will help you on your way then I'll take my leave again... - She said keeping her voice calm, but she had a feeling it might be her last time seeing him. He seemed to feel something was wrong, but kept that feeling to himself. The ranger and the Lossoth kept wandering through the land in silence, together with his companions. As they moved into Kauppa-Kohta he glanced back at the Dunadan and nodded at her, understanding that he never could and never will be able to stop her.

When he was done, she sat down by a large hut and went through her supplies then taking a moment to rest before she could move forward. That was when she saw another person coming. Forngarmo glanced to the side, seeing an elf figure near the fire. She seemed surprised to see them so far north. Yet she had decided to approach the newcomer and see if she can be of any assistance, since last people she encountered here were only those that got lost in the unfamiliar lands.
- Mae Govannen, mellon... - She greeted the newcomer in Sindarin.
- Mae Govannen hiril. Greetings under the stars to you. - The elf then replied, appraising the ranger secretly.
- You are very far from your lands. What brings you here? May I be of assistance? - She then asked after glancing to the fire then back to the elf.
- I thank you for the offer, but it may not be needed, as I will be here only for a short time. I intend to depart soon. - He then answered offering a small bow to her - You are most certainly not one of the Lossoth, my lady, but are you from these lands? - The elf then asked her. Forngarmo thought on the answer as it wasn't simple as it used to be in the past.
- I am no Lossoth, but they treat me like their kindred. I used to be the guardian of these lands before the war. Now, another matters have brought me here. - She then answered calmly, still focused on her real goal.
- Oh, I see... well, it is good for this land to have a guardian, verily. I mean no harm to this land and it's people, guardian. I am Menelamdir, and I smile at the hour of our meeting. - He then answered, introducing himself and offering a smile towards the ranger.
- That role now belongs to my son. I will leave for Gondor to join my Chieftain once my unfinished business here is done. - She said then thinking about what she had said. She was a guardian of the Ice Bay, but not anymore. That role now belonged to Faethuil and she had to remember it.  She talked a while longer with Menelamdir and then the two parted their ways, though he did mention that their pathes might cross again during Forngarmo's errand.
