At the seedy tavern the Spotless Note, Frimsi buys an apparently cursed ring from the wily hobbit Philistine. At any rate Frimsi is willing to endure the risks of a potential curse in order to add such a fashionable ring to his collection. Having acquired his ring, Frimsi bids farewell to his friends as the ever resourceful hobbit Briarlee begins an auction for another treasure.
