Letter To The Merchants Guild

The following letter is addressed to the Merchant Hall, though in name only, for it was, in fact, delivered by hand, by the very courier himself!

Hello, dear Merchants

Hello, esteemed members of the guild. I feel myself bound by duty to write this, in the hopes that it should bring an end to some of the gossip that is being said about the town. My reason for writing is to address the mess fracas regarding all these invitations that have been blowing in the wind in our town. I am not without ears, and hear that some of the gossip would say that it is I who has mishandled these invitations.

This is a claim I wish to steadfastly put to rest, for one simple fact being that, as many of you are aware, my business venture, the opening of the new town Post-Hall, has not yet even begun, and it is still being fixed up. And I can honestly lay my hand upon my heart and say that neither was I approached by those who organised the recent events, nor was I the distributor of said invitations. In truth, with all that has been going on, directing the progress of the building, I have had little time to be abroad as once I might, and I am focusing my attention on what the future shall bring.

I do not know who was hired to deliver the invitations, but I am sad that such a thing has occurred, and I hope, very much, that any blame whispered towards me would cease.

I am bringing this to the guild's attention, so that it may be brought up.

Yours sincerely,
Samfer Hatherley
