Dear fellow merchants of Bree-land,
I, Frimsi Gembeard, should like to bring a matter of great importance to everyone's attention. As you all know, I am the Uzbad of Durin's Folk, and so I have worked closely with Durin's Folk Trading Company to provide to the markets of Bree an excellent selection of Dwarven made tools. And Bree desperately needs such state of the art equipment as it continues to grow and expand as a prominent center for trade! But an unfortunate series of events has gotten in the way of our efforts to provide such excellent products to Bree. My kinsman Atgar, a Dwarf of great skill who has faithfully served both my order and the people of Bree-land for a long time now, had his cookshop in Pickdean robbed by a notorious gang of brigands known as the Greenway Knives. These brigands were unusually well organized and well equipped. They had to be in order to rob a Dwarven property!
Rest assured my order of Durin's Folk was able to take care of them and retrieve our stolen goods without any cost to the Bree-land taxpayer, but unfortunately a problem still remains. We do not fully understand why these brigands were so unusually well organized and well equipped, and until we fully understand why it is very likely they will reorganize and prey upon our trade routes once again. If this matter is left ignored it will scare away Dwarven trade and investment, something the markets of Bree desperately need. And even worse than that is that once these Greenway Knives scare away all Dwarven merchants, they will start preying upon local Bree-lander merchants. So it is in the interests of everyone in Bree that we have this matter settled as soon as possible. And to that end I would like to propose the financing of an investigation into this matter consisting of volunteers from the Bree Watch to get to the bottom of this mystery, so that Bree may be safe to resume growing rich once again!
