The diary of Ithilwien - June 7th

As full of self pity as this may sound, I’ve realized that I should just stop speaking to people… No matter what I do it seems people getting to know me will pull them into trouble.

I got approached by Athirin, a man who had asked to see me a few days ago. We were to meet and discuss him joining with the Legion, but I never found him. The same man approached me in the inn earlier today, clearly with different intentions.

“You never came to our meeting”, he said. “and I did say failing would lead to your death. But I will let you live, if you help me with something…”

Surprisingly enough he didn’t scare me. Not even when he grabbed my throat, threatening to strangle me if I didn’t do as he wished did he scare me.

“Who is you leader?” he asked me.

“The wife of Loor Turindriel.” My words must’ve been barely hearable from the tight grip he had around my throat, but he reacted anyhow.

“And where can I find her?”

I just shook my head, refusing to tell him. He should’ve known I wasn’t on her side, as I made it rather clear. But he kept threatening, though eventually letting his grip around my throat go, trying to find out her name and location. But I refused to tell him, no matter how much I wish to take her down I knew that if she would find out I had told on her, I’d get killed, and I can’t protect anyone when I’m dead. And just as much did I know that this man would not live long in her presence. He was a sloppy fool, obviously unaware of what he was getting himself into. He just kept pestering, desperate to find out who she is, but I eventually managed to make my escape and hide among the crowd near the bar. I don’t know if he tried to find me, but if he did I seemed to remain hidden.

Stood by the bar I ended up speaking to a man named Sethur. He appeared rather cold and I would soon come to find out why. A mercenary he was, didn’t care about others in any way. He made it very clear to me that he lived for his job, finishing his missions, receiving the payment and living for himself only. I tried to understand, tried to somehow discuss against him and explain how I live the completely opposite way but all this lead to really was that he told me my brother is selfish. Because I gave my entire life up for him, but I don t think he’d do the same for me.

Somehow though, despite our disagreements, we kept talking. Until Kazy arrived, making the man leave and telling me she needed me to take her to Naurlith. I didn’t want to just leave Sethur and with Kazy agreeing we decided to simply bring him with us as guests to the house. Seraile came with us as well, but he turned out to just stay outside the house.

When we got inside we found Naurlith there, as expected. A lot happened then, and I’m not actually sure why or what all was. But she threatened Kazy, blaming me for bringing the woman who deceived her husband so into the house. But Kazy somehow managed to convince Naurlith to give her a chance to prove herself and she got sent off to find Kelinor, being told to not show herself in the house again without him.

In the middle of this she also got up threatening me, very clearly proving her point of being the one with power by leaving a cut on both my throat and down my face. That woman is insane, more vile then I ever expected, not in ANY way caring about anything but herself.

“I would kill you if it was not for our bloodbond” she told me and eventually let me go.

After that she turned to Sethur, wondering why he was there, annoyed by how clearly he was opposing her. He daringly looked into her eyes, didn’t hesitate to point out how he disagreed with her actions. This lead to Naurlith giving him two choices;  To faithfully join us, or get killed, telling Kazy to fight him until death if he declined. But to my relief he gave in, agreeing to join us. I wouldn’t want that for him, or for anyone, but rather a slave for now then instantly dead. I realize that he blame me for this though, and I do assume he thinks this was all planned. I have to talk to him, explain that I never intended for this to happen.

I’m just hoping her poison won’t spread to him.
