Elves!,
Hear the words of an old man please, a plea for your help!
When young I studied in the library of Gondor, and there learned much of your people, though only rarely did I meet one.
Today I know that many of your people have left the lands we call home, to go where we know not.
I beg now, of those that remain, that you aid us in our need, for the enemy that casts his shadow upon os, is an enemy elves know of old.
For the sake of the lands I know you held, and hopefully still hold dear, forsake not those of us who live here only shortly.
We are but flames to you, that burn then flicker in a moment, yet our lives are as dear to us, as yours to you.
Forsake not our fight, for the hearts of men may be swayed easily, and without guidance, we shall be lost.
Thus I beg of you, leave not the lands before the enemy is slain, for without the wisdom of old, we will fail.
Humbly,
Dagorferth of Helms Deep.
