"...Well, then, if I'm gonna squeeze your hand, you're gonna have to take your weapons off." Boen stated. The Pony was empty and Umbaindes was rather talking to her companion, Boen, a sly and cheeky fellow who often made remarks about her and her fellow tomb-raiding companions.
Why are they in the Pony, you ask? Well, Umbaindes had just come to search for her companion Furlaf, her Second-in-Command in the band, and so far, her attempts at uncovering his whereabouts were in vain. They had to spend the night in the Pony, much to Umbaindes' chagrin.
Umbaindes immediately complied and took her shield and spears off, grinning wickedly as she set them on the pillar. She could see Boen, mildly surprised at her easy compliance, examining her with a rather inquisitive gaze. She looked at him expectantly, and grinned when he held out his hand. She took it.
What happened next caught Umbaindes rather unawares. Boen gave a mighty pull to her arm, and before she knew it, she was being twirled around and she stumbled. Before she could hit the floor though, Boen rapidly put his arms behind her back, catching her mid-way through the fall, and bent over her, she and her entire weight in his arms.
There was a long uncomfortable silence as Boen and Umbaindes gazed at each other, and Umbaindes, caught off guard, turned a bright shade of red.
"You idiot!" She whispered, and Boen grinned cheekily.
"Admit it, you know that I am not scared of you." Boen laughed. He slowly pulled Umbaindes to stand straight from their rather intimate position, and Umbaindes immediately felt steam coming out of her ears. She panicked and looked around, hoping that none of the other patrons had seen what had transpired.
"Idiot!" She whispered again, before she grabbed her weapons and shield and left Boen standing there, far too embarassed as she ran into the back room.
Confused, she stumbled into the empty kitchen of the pony, gazing at the fire and pot which hung over it. A flashback of memories made her recoil as she dreadfully remembered that over the entire course of her life, she had never fallen in love with anyone at all. She did not know how to react around men who seemed truly interested in her, not just her looks and charms. Her heart fluttered, and she was extremely disappointed to learn, that in these circumstances, she was lost at true romance. She hung her head and left the kitchens, still red.
