It just came to my attention that a few people had drawn comparisons between Minye and Daer and found them to an extent similar... true, they are. But not so similar :p
If one has met Daerundros and Minye IC, one can immediately tell Daer is the friendlier of the type, and the more compassionate (except when it comes to dealing with Men who are not from Rohan nor have Dúnadan blood in them). While Minye is a nihilistic, self-obsessed, and egoistical Elf who has a corrupted spirit of Morgoth residing in her, Daer can be viewed as stubborn, sometimes arrogant, naïve, yet friendly. Due to her Noldorin heritage Daer is bound to get arrogant sometimes, especially when around men of Non-rohirric and non-Dúnadan blood.
What makes Daer so drastically different from Minyelaírë is that Daer has a strong spiritual sense and will, in contrast to Minye, who has no morals to look after and readily gives up if she sees pursuit of something as hopeless. Daer can also readily perceive that Minyelaírë has a good heart, while Minye sometimes blalantly makes accusations.
One thing that I tend to imply is that Minye and Daer are like two halves of a whole; Yin and Yang, you could say. Like I referenced heavily in my stories, Minye and Daer can't exist without each other. If minye dies, Daer will eventually die as well, and vice versa. Minye is the more ferocious of this Whole clump, while Daer is the more calm one, providing each other with a sense of Balance and stability.
