Dagnir Apanona (The Chronicles of the Sword)

“I was right to send Daegond to find Turuviel and the sword. And I knew it is getting closer even before they ride into the valley” Reiven sighed softly “I should stay away from it and let them find a solution…” continued muttering to herself as walking in the halls blindly before her appearance caught by the others. She was too late to shift away…

She was there in the hall of fire amongst with her trusted kin, with her friends and her beloved Teremonth at her side. She was feeling settled seeing both Turuviel and Cirdamir safe and the knowledge of the sword still beyond her reach or maybe that she was beyond of its reach. She couldn’t dare to voice her questions even though her troubled mind and the desire she felt make her feel worn out, she remained still.

Then they all were standing in the haven of Orladion waiting for Cirdamir to bring the sword. Reiven stayed behind. Leaning on to the parapet wall to watch as Anglachem released the sword of its wrappings and calling it is with the name.

“Dagnir Apanona, whom do thee seek”

The sword ping and she tried her best to avoid everything about it. She closed her mind, her hearing even her sight…

Yet when the voices started rising and surrounding all around her, she knew what to do. It was her who found the sword and awakened the nightmares. Even it was the other way she owed Daelith her life. So it has to be her to carry it.

And when she really realized what she was doing… it was too late to turn back. It was once again in her hands. She recognized the familiar weight; She felt the coldness of the steel under all those wrappings and she heard it again… Whispering…

Whispering words to make her sad or broken… But when her eyes found Teremonth it felt into silence as she saw the real pain in his eyes, the absolute disappointment and that time she felt all alone…
