Dear Diary,
Grandmother is planning something. She isn't telling me, but I can see it in her eyes like I can see the promise of spring in the land. She is acting strange for a while already. A few weeks back she all of the sudden told me we would go to Imladris. We have been here now for a while. I must admit the vale is almost as beautiful as Celondim in its full blossoms. The halls, you cannot imagine, they are bigger then I have ever seen and they are decorated in elegance and beauty. There are many more elves here than I ever saw together. Even those of the other folk seem to enjoy the hospitality of this hidden vale.
If that was strange this morning she even acted stranger. She called me to her. Told me to find a trusted friend and go to keep an eye on the lands around Bree! She would not join me this time.Easy talking she does. Where do I get myself a friend from so quickly who is willing to go with me to Bree? All those I know back home are perfectly fine staying where they are. I met some here in the Vale who seemed nice enough, but they are all either heading east or south or not willing to leave either. Find a friend she said. How does she expect me to do that?
And why of all places to Bree? I only heard bad things about that city. The people there are said to be rude and rough. Not at all like the honorable people of old, grandmother loves to tell her stories about. No, grandmother is definitely up to something. I wish I could find out what it is.
