A discovery in Delossad - (Part 1)

An eagle caught his eye.. it proceeded to land very close.. a message with the seal of the Flower upon it. One of Lady Isilmewen's dear friends 'Ithilach' sent as the bearer of this message, a tremendously noble creature, Istuir dipped his head respectfully and knelt to take the message.

An urgent message from the Herth, Istuir had been asked to travel swiftly to Delossad and investigate anything out of sorts. This was a first for Istuir, he was almost ready to travel via swan fleet to return home, having completed his task in Imladris.

Making haste he rode to Tal Bruinen and the ancient ruin.

Entering with caution wary of what may or may not be present. Little stirred, let alone any possible threat.. but he remained guarded. Passing a few empty large rooms it was then something caught his eye.

Approaching carefully slightly hidden in the shadows, the body of an old man lay, as he drew near the insects drawn to the carrion. The body had clearly been here sometime, covering his face to mask the stench Istuir kneeled pulling away the books the body was clasping with one arm. Upon closer inspection they were elven, medicine and herb. They were almost pristine and had clearly been looked after.

It was then Istuir noticed some papers in the other hand of the old man.. old and torn.

Prising them from fingers.. he took a closer look, the language was clearly very old but made little sense to Istuir he could neither discern what was written or even which language.

Rising to his feet he looked over the body, there did not appear to be any struggle or anything obvious as a cause. This puzzled Istuir, why would an old man be here, why the books and the paper. Istuir concluded he needed to seek council from those wiser in such things.

Stepping back from the body he spoke a soft blessing over the body, his heart filled with pity for this old man who appeared to have died alone.

Leaving Delossad Istuir made haste for the Vale, he would seek the council of any one learned there, these books perhaps would provide initial clues.
