Name&Pronounciation/Meaning
Avalhinn - [avaˌliːnn]; meaning 'Other-Tune'. The word 'other' refers to otherworldly.
Mound-Fey; she is called such by the Men of Bree in fairy-tales.
Crugwyllion; meaning 'Barrow-Spirit' is the name that the Men of Dunland gave her.
Glûsdrûg; meaning 'Fair Being' do the Drúedain call her.
Avalhinn is no spirit of renown or of grand deeds. She walks the Vales and deep forests of Arda, although rarely seen.
Bree-Landers and Men of Enedwaith who beheld her call her the Mound-Fey and the guardian of the woodlands that she holds dear as her home. While these men she avoided and remained elusive to, she tread openly before the Drúedain, who welcomed her and love her, for Avalhinn aided these stunted men with what powers she had to offer.
But what powers she holds is subject to the imagination and tales of the mortal races.
She delights in teasing wanderers, leading them on wrong paths and far astray, but no evil is her intention.
