Born to a noble family in Cliving, Rohan; Lidie grew up as any pampered nobleman's daughter would. She learned to cook, sew, clean, all the basic things. She learned her letters and numbers and could do simple math by the time she was three, and read by the time she was four. She was a very obedient child, always doing as she was told and never running off on any adventures, which seems silly to her now.

Her mother passed away of an illness when Lidie was very young, leaving her with her father and older siblings. Without her mother, Lidie lost the want to be perfect and prim all the time. She stopped wearing her maiden dresses and instead donned trousers and shirts. Soon her longing to want to leave home overtook her and she stole away in the middle of the night, traveling far away from Rohan and into the Bree-lands, finally making a home there with her cousin.

She married a man named Joran Rensig, and she was very happy. They traveled together for a bit, but her husband was soon killed in a terrible orc accident. With nowhere left to go, and with her cousin in a very similar situation, Lidie returned to Bree to live with Rosellynn and these days she doesn't get out much, and doesn't go out of her way to talk with people or to make friends.
