Background

Childhood

Akayaa was born and raised in the southern portion of Forochel, among the once prosperous Ice wolf Tribe.  She was raised as any others, learning the basics of living - fishing, hunting, leather-working, cooking, and cold survival skills. And like any lossoth, she adapted to the cold early on. For the most part, her upbringing was completely normal, for her heritage.

The Raid

Five years ago, Akayaa's village was raided by a rivaling tribe known as the Kaomin. She was one of the first to be struck down in the raid. She was struck in the midsection by a wooden spear, inches away from being fatal. She laid awake as she watched her family, her friends, her tribe, be cut down in the fray. Though they did stave off the raid, they were weakened beyond the point of even being called a tribe anymore. Too weak to speak for herself, and too injured to pass for living, she was the first drug to what would be a funeral pyre for all the fallen.

The survivors lit the massive pile of bodies, before they would move on, abandoning their village. As night fell, and the land's grew colder, the fire that surrounded this young girl died out to a smolder. The warmth still resonating through the pile of mangled bodies, was the only thing that kept her warm enough to survive the night.

She clawed her way out from under the pyre the next morning, mustering whatever strength she could. She stood up to see the village she grew up in, burnt, torn, and abandoned.

She had nothing left. Just the thought of being around there, was enough to send her into depression.

On that day, she started her journey south, surviving only by willpower and luck.
