| Outward Appearance | Standing at exactly 5'3", Sid is lithe and toned from her hard training and many days of travel. Her hair is raven black and falls to her hips, though it is usually kept in a low, loose bun at the nape of her neck. Her face, though well-formed, may not be considered pretty, as her hard expression ruins features made for softness.
She is a prickly sort of person, but there is something sad about her deep blue eyes. Perhaps she is not completely unapproachable... |

Background
Sidhneth, or "Sid" as she likes to be called, hails from Pelargir, Gondor. She is from some little-known noble house there, a fact which she does not openly admit to for reasons of her own. She is well-educated and will not hide it from anyone. Why she is now in Breeland, though, is a mystery to everyone and only a precious few may ever fully know the reason.
However, it is easiest to say that Sid's story is not a very happy one. Born to noble parents who thought of her more as a piece of furniture than as a daughter, she spent most of her early years longing for the sort of love that a child should receive from her mother and father. The servants who cared for her provided this to some degree and gave her the sort of education that was more invaluable than one any teacher could give. They taught her kindness, tolerance, and love.
Her life was fairly miserable as the only child of her family despite the many advantages she had. She was, she knew, expected to marry well to bolster her father's failing funds and to provide them with several grandchildren, one of whom they could preferably bestow their estate upon. Sid would have run away from such a great responsibility if her nurse had not convinced her that doing so was a cowardly action. Wishing not to disgrace herself or to be called 'yellow', she remained at home until around her eighteenth birthday when she was informed that she would be wed.
Sid was horrified to discover, upon asking, that her groom was well known -- though not in a good way. He was reported to have a vicious temper and the kind of cravings for flesh that would make anyone shudder. Fearing for her life, she at last ran away, taking with her only what she could carry. It was just outside the city that she met a young sellsword who asked to be her bodyguard. She did not deny him and they went away together to travel the world. Along the long and winding road, he taught her the art of sword-play as well as how to handle many other weapons, including a bow.
As many might expect, the two fell in love and he asked her to be his bride. She accepted, but things did not end happily ever after. She woke up one morning to simply find him gone, leaving her with nothing except what she had near her. She fought her way back to her homeland where she sought some sort of employment rather than return to her family. She was bitter and angry, swearing that she would not love again. Yet, it was in the same house where she was given a place that she did exactly that.
But, alas, this was not her happily ever after, either. Three days before their wedding, the guard who had asked for her hand abandoned her and she gave up her post at the house. She took up residence with a friend and soon found herself with child. He promised that he should care for them all and at last things seemed to be looking up for her. She gave birth to twins and it seemed as if happiness was truly going to bless her for the rest of her days. Sadly, her children grew sick and died; she became depressed, and her husband blamed her for the loss of their twins. She even blamed herself.
Toward the end, they saw little of each other. With no one to seemingly care for her, Sid tried to take her own life, but as with all things, failed miserably. She was saved by some kind creature, whose generosities she repaid as much as she could with such a sick heart. Eventually, she took leave of Gondor and began to travel again, vowing to leave behind the memories that haunted her and to spend the rest of her life alone, avoiding any and all attachments.
She was not made to be alone, however, and the longer that stays in the company of people, the harder it becomes for her to keep her promise.
