Hailing from Bree-land, as a young lass Amerianna Underhill showed an early aptitude for the written word. She worked as a caretaker at the Scholar's Stair Archives and soon began to take note of the books and scrolls as she cleared and tidied the place. Before long she would spend as much time reading them as she did keeping dust from the shelves.

This was noticed by the learned masters of the Stair, who encouraged her appetite for knowledge. Unfortunately the Underhills were not a wealthy family and could not afford to fund her studies. The masters allowed Armeria free use of their collection so long as she kept up her duties, but could not devote time to teaching without recompense.

This did not sit well with the family of another hobbit lass, who were paying a healthy purse to have her schooled at the Archives. Melongene Took was bright and academically proficient but lacked the intuition and insight her tutors saw in Armerianna.

In her late tweens Armerianna accompanied one of the learned masters on a journey to visit the elven library in Duillond. This was also her first visit to Buckland and the Shire, where she was amused to see hobbits outnumbering the Big Folk for once. On the return leg of the journey they stayed as guests of the Master of Buckland at Brandy Hall.

There Armeria met and fell in love with one Bartholemew Spudplucker, of the Buckland guards. Though their meeting was brief, she knew he was the one and they were married a year later to the day. Armerianna became an assistant to the librarian at Brandy Hall, where she continued her self education.

Bartho, Armeria and their four children ~ Jagodoc, Camellia, Doderic & Primula ~ have now moved along with the rest of The Spudplucker Clan to Myrtle Burrows in the Southfarthing. In time Armerianna Spudplucker intends to found a small library of her own for the use of her family, friends and neighbours.
