Sophie was born in Archet and lived there with her parents for most of her life, being an only child. She grew up with her cousin Yullie and was very close with her and the rest of the family. When she was three, her mother took ill with a fever and passed away the following year, and her father died from an illness when she was ten. She then moved to Bree to live with her uncle Sig, who is the owner of Sig Mandrakes's Shop. There she found her love for cooking, and often helped him out in the kitchen. He had no children of his own and was one of three siblings. One being Yullie's mother and the other being Sophie's father.

She left Bree when she was eighteen, and has just recently returned to live with her uncle. She had had a wanderlust growing up in her teenage years, but it seems to have diminished since she returned from her trip. She prefers not to speak of her travels, and will avoid the question when asked, or just simply lie about it. Her and her cousin Yullie traveled together for several years, and both came back to Bree together. As far as anyone knows, they went east and through the Lone-lands and Trollshaws, and on into Eregion. Despite being reluctant to talk about part of her life, she is very adamant on making friends and is very talkative. She cannot often tell when her presence is unwanted until directly told, and is hardly ever serious unless very annoyed or upset.

She learned swordplay from her uncle, and often carries one around with her, but she is not often seen using it. She is an incredibly skilled cook and baker, and is well-known around Bree from her Catering Company. She even gives lessons, and greatly enjoys doing so. While she does have her own company now, her dream is still to open her own shop in town and sell from it.
