| Outward Appearance | Hollace Fenflower is about 5'10'' and has a stocky, strapping build. His chest and shoulders are broad, thick muscled from farm and forge work and hearty meals. At age 27, he looks a bit older than his years, the sun and heat of the fire weathering his features but his thick dark brown hair shows no signs of grey. His green eyes flash with warm humor though the man is more stoic than his younger siblings, when he does laugh it is rich and genuine. Once he used to wear a full beard but too many singed hairs made him shaved it off, now he sports only the mutton chops and thick mustache.
Personality: He is a man normally calm and self deprecating, one who takes it upon himself to do any job without being asked. His humor is not as biting or witty as his siblings but clever and observational.

Background
Hollace is the eldest of the four children of Gatland and Charissa Fenflower of Bree. Growing up, he experienced the responsibilities that every oldest child and big brother had and he is a natural leader. He had his wild youth, especially when he and his younger brother, Corrben, got into bare knuckle boxing. He grew out of it quickly, he realized boyhood antics could not last long. As the son of a retired Watcher, he was expected to go into the same line of work but after a year, he turned in his badge, more focused on the family farm and continuing his apprenticeship as a blacksmith. While he is not a master of the forge, he is competent enough to make anything from farm tools to spearheads to basic armor. By age 17 he was running the daily maintenance of the farm, doing the job of a foreman while his father still worked in town as a Watcher. He did this for a number of years, even after his father retired. It was certain that Hollace would inherit the farm, between his birthright and his passion for the land, it seemed obvious.
When he was 23, one of his tasks was to purchase cattle from the North Downs and drive them back to home. It was there where he fell in love with a farmer's daughter, a Miss Ainslie Wells. A spirited and pretty lass of 20, she caught his eye and his heart and he did what he could to make trips up there to see her. After a year of haphazard courting, he proposed and her father gave his blessing. They were married and shortly after, his father in law passed away. Without a son, the farm passed to Ainslie and it was decided he would move up there with her to run it.
This left the Fenflower Farm without a foreman but Gatland stepped into run it, keeping Corrinne close so she could learn. The Wells farm in the Northdowns was three times the size of the Fenflower farm. Acres of barley and hay fields along which much more livestock was a challenge but one Hollace eagerly met with his wife at his side.
In the last year, the troubles have come down from the north and they are hearing rumors of orcs and Hillmen raiding their neighbors and even the town. He plans for their defenses, in case their farm would be hit. He has a handful of hired hands and some of her extended family. He knows how to use a spear and sword, and shield, trained by his father and the Watch and sets out some of his hands to keep an eye on the farther reaches of the farm. With Ainslie expecting, he does not want to risk too much but abandoning the land her family fought to tame and make useful does not feel like an option.
Six months ago, his farmstead in the Northdowns was raided by orcs, his visiting father was killed as well as his wife. He escaped with his mother and his infant son. Since returning to the farm in Bree, he has done odd smithing jobs and helped Corrinne with the farm but rebuilding and replanting has cost dearly and coin is needed. His brother Corrben left the Bree Watch to lend his aid to Trestlebridge, and he considered doing the same, for protection and revenge. But for the last several generations there has not been a Watch without a Fenflower and he felt it his duty to take his brother's spot and don the Watcher hauberk once more.
