Background
Long ago in distant Erebor, I, Kólskeggr, the third of my name, set out from our halls and made my fortune. But a foolish dwarf of the Dourhands, afflicted with dragon- sickness, stole my hoard and stepped forth to murder me. Before the blow was struck, my brother smote the thief, yet his wicked clansmen escaped with my treasures and scattered. I call my heirs now to regain our honour and gold!
