Background
Awstin Hardwood grew up on a small farm in the Archet Dale area. This secluded and serene vale within the central Bree-land region was a good place to raise sheep and grow crops. The only danger Awstin had encountered in the Dale were Dusk-wolves and Bristlehides. While out in the fields one day Awstin noticed a group of men heading towards the old ruined fort. It turned out that the peace and tranquillity of the Dale was about to end. Awstin shadowed the men as they made their way to the ruins. Once it was the residence of the Men of Arnor, now home to an unruly mob of outlaws. Awstin got close enough to hear they were getting ready for a battle, quickly Awstin rushed home in the darkness to tell his father of the pending doom.
In the darkness Awstin crossed paths with a Brown bear and with one swipe of its powerful paw opening up a jagged cut over his right eye and rendering him unconscious. Awstin came around just as the darkness was giving way to the pale grey light of morning. Slow rising he continued on home but was too late as the farm was already ablaze. They only building not totally consumed by flames was the small shed his father kept a few of his personal belonging. Racing over to the shed he barged open the door. What he saw inside shocked him. Hanging on the walls was a shield the Shield of the Hammerhand and two bronzed swords. On a stand the Hauberk of the Hammerhand and steel pauldrons, reinforced gloves and reinforced boots. Quickly Awstin donned the armour, shield and strapped on the two bronze swords. As he was about to leave he spied so large armour under a tarpaulin, horses barding of the Eastemnet. After strapping the barding to the large chestnut mere Awstin charged off to Archet. Arriving as the first flames started to engulf the sleepy town. Drawing two swords Awstin charged into Archet to avenge his family.
It’s been a few weeks since the attack by the Blackwold on Archet yet the rage and hatred within Awstin has not died. If anything it has only grow stronger. Everytime the word Blackwold is mentioned Awstin finds himself riding off to do battle.
Awstin stands taller than average and has a large build due to working the land all day since early childhood. Now in his early twenties he is gaining experience as a warrior. When asked about the scar on his face, he gets a somber look on his face as it’s a reminder that he could not save his family.
Awstin has joined the Red Company to avenge his parents and the town of Archet.
