Background

Martuleon was born in Beleriand, in the land of Mithrim twenty years before the Dagor Aglareb.  He was wounded then as a child, and his father gave him his name, for an orc spear pierced his chest, and forever after a scar sat over the location of his heart.  He stayed in the region of Hithlum, and Dorthonion for some time before losing his family to the Dagor Bragollach.  He then rode with Fingolfin, rage filled, and watched the battle between his lord and Morgoth.  Filled with grief he fled, though after some fighting to break free of the battle, he found refuge with The house of Hurin.  Wounded he was, and spent a week with the Edain of Dorthonion.  After the realization sunk in that The Kingdom of Fingolfin was lost, he fled south. He then called Finrod his lord, and lived in Nargothrond as a hunter and watch warden.  A short time after the death of Finrod and Orodreth's reign of power in Nargothrond had begun, seeing a decline in his peoples might and the utter end of the Noldor nigh complete, he grew restless and wished to migrate to more safer regions.  After the building of the Bridge across the river Narog, he was finished, and found refuge in Doriath.  There he befriended a sindar by the name of Narmoth, and the two hunted the eves of the Girdle of Melian, and lived a peaceful if not sedimentary life for many years.  When the Nauglamir was brought out of the ruins of Nargothrond, and in it placed a silmaril, Martuleon was outraged, and spoke against Elu Thingol in council.  There he was betrayed by Narmoth, for though the bonds of friendship were strong, Narmoth sided with his King.  He was then banished from Doriath, and if not for the words of Melian, he would have been killed before he left the throne of the Sindar King.  He thought then to travel into Lindon, but coming across a massive army of Dwarves bound for Doriath, he fled once again, this time westward.  As the fall of the Noldor was in full tilt, he was done with war, and never participated again willingly in any battle of long lost Beleriand.  He traveled for a time and lighted at the mouth of Sirion where he befriended Nōwē, and that friendship has lasted through the ages.  He would not call Cirdan his lord, but he fought beside him as the sons of Feanor sought possession of the Silmaril that Elwing kept in safeguard.  He stood by the Lord of the Falas for many a year and gave him council as he could.  Though it made his heart heavy, he watched the last remaining Silmaril diminish into the west and the vision that Cirdan was giving by the Valar fulfilled.  Later he said his goodbyes to Nōwē, lord of the Falas, vowing never to lose touch, and followed Galadriel and the remnants of his people over the Ered Luin and into Lindon.  He vowed his fealty to Galadriel then, being in his eyes the most noble of his peoples, and the sister of his lord Finrod.  He helped in the planting of the Mallorns in the forests of Lindórinand, at that time a Nandor realm.  Afterwards it became Lothlorien, and he lived many a century there.  He never stayed in one place after the fall of Arnor, though he always returned to the golden wood for months and even a few years at a time.  He would not participate in the Last Alliance, his heart being heavy, and his faith in Gil-Gilad and Elrond less so than the Noldorian lords of the past..  He has spent thirty years now in Lothlorien, not leaving the wood, and finding what peace he might find, before the words of Galadriel put him on the move.  Her council was wise, and she told him to first seek his friend Cirdan, then bring together a company of Elves under his command.  She spoke also of his fate, and that he still had a role to play in the last of the age.  He now seeks other sons of Finwe, and others of the ancient Sindar to ride once more under the Blue and Silver banners of the Noldor, and help stop the master of werewolves from regaining his power.  Find him here
