Arnleiff is the son of Makenzie and Arnkeld. Whilst he was born and raised in Archet in Bree-Land he has been named in a Dale fashion after his father. His parents and his sister, Svafa, often just refers to him as 'Leiff'.

Unlike his sister Svafa, Leiff never proved particularly adventurous. He is happiest surrounded by people and loves to listen to stories and meet new people. He has never been outside Bree-Land, although he knows his dad is keen for him to see Dale one day.

From a  young age Leiff showed great interest in the plants and vegetables his father grew in their small garden. Leiff helped with the cooking at home and was always experimenting with dishes. When his parents became friendly with the elf Nindrahil and joined her group, the Custodians of Arnor, he spent hours learning from her about cooking and food with healing and enhancing abilities. 

Two years ago Arnleiff was very lucky to be accepted for an apprenticeship as a cook at the Mess Hall in Bree Town. He is loving his new life in Bree and recently was promoted to Master Apprentice Cook. During his breaks he can often be seen hanging about the market square talking to the healer. He also likes to go to Beggar's Alley to give food to the poor.

As part of his apprenticeship he has to do rotation work. One week as a cook in the kitchen, one week as a farmer. As part of this he sometimes has to leave town to gather wild herbs and berries, so he can be seen walking the Northern and Southern Bree Fields. His dad sometimes brings him back herbs from his travels too.
