Background

Names:
Meren - Festive/Joyous - her given name from her father's family, what everyone calls her by.
Cestadril - Seeker/Searcher - only good friends will know this name.
Cellin - Flowing Music - she doesn't mind if strangers use this name for her. she uses this most frequently.
Runa - meaning to free, given to her by her mother's family. Only those closest and oldest to Cellin's heart would call her this.

Cellin's mother was an elf of Lindon in the Second Age, where she served as one of Lady Galadriel's handmaidens. Her life was devoted to her, and she traveled to Eregion with them before finally coming to settle in Lothlórien. It was during the Second Age that Nairiell met Gaelon from the Woodland Realm, and they would go on to have a daughter and name her Meren. But her mother and her family always whispered Runa in her ear.

She was born and grew up in the wilds of Lothlórien. From a very young age, Cellin was always a very quirky girl. She constantly wanted to explore and travel, never could sit still, and to this day continues to have a permanent wanderlust instilled within her heart. She means well, but she is still quite naive and does not always act with the wisdom that is expected of her. Because of this, it was always inevitable that Cellin would not remain in Lothlórien forever.

Aside from exploring, Cellin took an interest in archery. Over the years, with help from her mother, she grew to become exceedingly good with a bow. She dabbled in healing, and she learned how to use a sword well, but her skills never matched up to that of her skill with archery, and so it became her weapon of choice, much to her mother’s happiness. But Cellin's interests did not lie with battle, and instead, she studied to be a historian. She read every history book from every land that she could get her hands on and became an accomplished chronicler and storyteller, writing history as it happened around her.

Cellin was given the name Cestadril by friends, for she began to travel for many years, always seeking lore and history in places that were long forgotten. She only returned home when news reached her of her father’s death in the Battle of the Five Armies, where he had gone to aid his kin in Mirkwood. It was not long after, and Cellin's mother went on to Valinor. After that, Cellin was left completely without any family, and so she traveled to Mirkwood to see if she could find any of her father’s relatives.

In Mirkwood, Cellin was unable to find any of her father’s family. She left, heartbroken and alone, and returned to Lothlórien, though she did not stay. Despite being alone in the world, Cellin kept her quirky and happy demeanor, and she made friends wherever she went.
