| Outward Appearance | Poppy is a tall woman with dark skin, black hair, and broad shoulders. She appears to be somewhere in her early 20s and speaks with a very thick accent. Upon first look at Poppy, it would be no question at all to her Dunlending heritage, with her brown skin and her strong accent. Upon second look, one may notice that her stature is slightly smaller than average, and that her accent has a very faint Breeish twinge.

Background
Poppy was born in Galtrev, far from her mother's home, and the eldest of two daughters. Her mother was a bartender from Bree-land and her father was a Craftsman and Sellsword from Dunland. Their small odd family welcomed another daughter, Primrose, when Poppy was a few years old.
She bore a striking resemblance to her father with the same dark skin and raven black hair that grew to her waist. As anyone who knew them would know, Poppy clung to her father and tried to copy as much as she could from him, learning to hunt and to craft at his hip. While Poppy would never voice any resentment or dislike for her mother, her obvious preference for her father started at a very young age, while her sister was the one who clung tightly to her mother.
Growing up in Dunland, Poppy never felt excluded or like an outcast, unlike her mother and her younger sister. She ran with the fastest of them and she practiced swordplay with the toughest of them. Poppy thrived in Galtrev, feeling as if she belonged better than she would ever belong anywhere else. When her mother voiced her unhappiness with being in Dunland and her desire to return home, Poppy disregarded it.
After some many years in Galtrev, when Poppy had grown into a young woman and she had become an excellent swordswoman, she one day woke to find that her father was gone. Her mother fell into a severe depression, so deep that Poppy could not shake her from it, and she passed away only a few short weeks later. With her younger sister in tow, Poppy finally left Dunland for the first time in her life, and she traveled all the way to Eriador in search of her father, in hopes that he returned to somewhere he once called home.
Left completely and entirely alone in the world with her infant sister, she could not bring herself to return to her home without anyone, where everything was a reminder. And so she continued to travel into Bree-land, looking for any of her father's old contacts. Poppy remains stubborn in her belief that something happened to her father, and that he did not simply wake one morning and leave them.
